I initially tested that the dropdown was working correctly in #11283, but apparently only looked at the button placement in the #11563 follow-up.
I don't really remember why the overflow: hidden; was needed, but from some testing, the button placement still looks good without it (and the dropdown then works properly)
Benchmark runs are scheduled for baseline = 2baed02 and contender = 0d1ecda. 0d1ecda is a master commit associated with this PR. Results will be available as each benchmark for each run completes.
